Vaccination

Vaccination

Vaccination is a procedure which veterinarians inject biologically inactivated pathogens into your healthy pet’s body to elicit immunity against particular diseases or conditions, so that your pet can fight off these pathogens when they are exposed to them in everyday life.

The timing, frequency and the type of vaccine your pet needs depend on the lifestyle, health condition and life-stages. Under Hong Kong’s legislation, any dogs over 5 months of age must be vaccinated against rabies, microchipped and applied for a license. The license must be renewed every 3 years thereafter. At the AMAH, we offer both core and non-core vaccines against various pathogens for dogs and cats, consult our general practitioner for your tailored vaccination programme.

The dog vaccine DHPPiL can prevent: (Distemper, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, Hepatitis

The cat vaccine FVRCP can prevent: Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus and Panleukopenia
