Dr. Maheeka Kishani Seneviratne

EBVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery

Dr. Maheeka Kishani Seneviratne graduated from the University of Cambridge, UK in 2014. She then completed a small animal internship at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) London. From 2018-2021, Dr. Maheeka undertook an ECVS residency in Small Animal Surgery at the RVC, successfully passing her final exams in 2022 to become a European Board of Veterinary Specialists (EBVS) specialist in Small Animal Surgery.

Dr. Maheeka has worked as a surgery specialist in the UK and in Singapore. Her soft tissue surgery interests include thoracic surgery, hepatobiliary surgery and reconstructive surgery including the management of complicated wounds and large tumour resections. She also has an interest in minimally invasive surgery and looks forward to developing this service at the Animal Medical Academy Hospital.

Dr. Maheeka spent the last year working at the RVC, one of the largest referral hospitals in Europe, where she was involved in teaching and training surgical residents and undergraduate veterinary students.

In her spare time, Dr. Maheeka loves to travel and looks forward to exploring Hong Kong and other parts of Asia. She and her husband are parents to a rescue dog named Rocky.
