Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has a long history in the Chinese culture. As part of TCM, acupuncture has been used to treat different conditions, and it works by inserting a needle into the body to stimulate healing response. Studies have shown that different acupoints can stimulate different parts of the body.
Studies have shown that acupuncture treatments on different acupoints can stimulate different parts of the body.Conditions that are commonly treated or supplemented with acupuncture include (but not limited to):
- Arthritis
- Soft tissue injury or sprain
- Intervertebral disc disease
- Degenerative spinal disease
- Pain management
- Seizures
- Chronic rhinitis
An acupuncture session usually last around 15-30mins, and owners are encouraged to stay with their pets during the session. The frequency of acupuncture sessions varies for different conditions.
